California passed legislation in 2005 to address the abundance of foods and beverages high in fat and sugar served outside of school meals. As a result more and more school-based organizations are looking for healthier foods and beverages to offer students. Use the California Project LEAN food calculator to identify products that meet SB 12 nutrient standards for total fat, saturated fat, and sugar.
