Description:
|
This Research-Validated curriculum is designed to prevent the onset of tobacco use by addressing some of the social influences and psychological factors that influence cigarette and smokeless tobacco initiation. The core program consists of six classroom sessions for grades four through eight. To enhance the core program, the MSPP also provides a Peer Leader Guide for training peer educators, a Community Action Manual and a parent brochure (available in English and Spanish) for motivating family and community involvement, and four classroom booster sessions to implement in grades nine through twelve. The program uses a variety of educational methods including large group discussions, peer-led group activities, cooperative learning projects, videotapes, and role-plays.
